Fireman’s Beach (Asprokremmos), Kapparis
Fireman’s Beach — known locally as Asprokremmos — is a small, sheltered cove tucked beneath white limestone cliffs in Kapparis, at the northern end of the Protaras area on Cyprus’s south-east coast. It’s the beach that gave our apartment its name, and it remains one of the neighbourhood’s best-kept secrets.

Why it’s special
Sheltered by the cliffs on either side, the cove has soft golden sand and unusually calm, clear water that earns it Blue Flag status. It’s smaller and quieter than the famous bays nearby, which is exactly the appeal — a place for a slow morning swim or a sunset rather than a packed resort beach.
How to get there
Fireman’s Beach is about an 8-minute walk from the Blue Electra Complex in Kapparis, where our apartment Ember & Tideis. From the centre of Protaras it’s a short drive, and there is limited parking nearby. The final approach is down towards the cove, so comfortable footwear helps.
What to expect & facilities
- Soft golden sand and calm, shallow water — good for families.
- Blue Flag water quality.
- A small café-bar (Kohili) up on the cliff above the beach for coffee, drinks and a view.
- Sunbeds and umbrellas in season.
- A sheltered aspect that keeps the water calmer than open beaches.
Best time to go
Mornings are calm and quiet, ideal for a swim before the day warms up. Late afternoon into evening is lovely for the light, and the cliff-top bar is a fine spot to watch the sun go down. The swimming season runs roughly May to October.
Other beaches nearby
If you fancy a change of scene, Malama Beach is a 15-minute stroll, Agia Triada (Trinity) Beach is a 5-minute drive, and the famous Fig Tree Bay in Protaras is about 10 minutes away by car. See our full Kapparis & Protaras guide for more.
